Hansen, who will focus on the Application Delivery Controller and Data Management markets said the demand for Internet-based applications offered by enterprises to their customers both in mobile and fixed environments continues to grow.

As does the data being placed in large and medium enterprise storage environments which means enormous potential for F5 in this region.

He said the solutions that F5 brings to the application delivery and storage markets allow CIO's to implement a Total Cost of Ownership strategy, whilst improving infrastructure robustness and the availability of applications to their customers.

"I see a wealth of opportunities that allow us to collaborate with customers to build agile IT infrastructures that ensure people, applications and data can adapt to business changes," he said.

"This is a terrific value proposition given the current economic pressures on our customers.

Before joining F5, Hansen was managing director at AirData Pty Ltd, where he grew top line revenues by 250 percent in 18 months.

Prior to that he worked for Symbol Technologies, Telstra, Cisco Systems, and Ericsson.

Song Tang Yih, vice president, F5 Networks APAC said the market in A/NZ continues to be one of the most sophisticated adopters of Application Delivery Networking technologies and Hansen's experience will assist in maintaining F5's momentum.
