EY acquires Sydney SAP specialist Plaut IT Australia

Global consulting giant EY has acquired Sydney SAP specialist Plaut IT Australia for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will see 130 people across Plaut and its Malaysian subsidiary Baseliner join EY’s technology services arm. The acquisition marks EY’s third digital buyout in seven months.

Plaut IT chairman David Prior will also join EY in Sydney.

“EY and Plaut IT put people first while also striving to provide continual value to clients, this alignment of values adds to the strength of the combined group,” Prior said.

“The acquisition provides our team with a well-rounded set of capabilities and skills and provides the potential for us to work on large scale business transformations. We are excited about the work we will now have the opportunity to participate in.”  

Plaut’s major clients include the likes of Toyota Australia, Sanitarium and a number of state and federal government departments.

Plaut IT Australia is a locally owned member of the Plaut International Management Consulting group, and was established in 2000 in Sydney. It now has offices in Canberra, Wollongong, Melbourne and Newcastle.

Through its acquisition, EY would be better positioned to come in the larger SAP sector, according to EY Oceania advisory leader Lynn Kraus.

“EY’s technology transformation business has experienced over 20 per cent year on year growth over the last 10 years and our service offering has continued to expand. Traditionally known as advisors in this space we are fast becoming known for providing end-to-end transformation delivery for clients,” Kraus said.

“With the purchase of Plaut IT, EY is now positioned to compete in the larger end-to-end SAP sector, while the Baseliner entity also provides EY with the ability to provide cloud enterprise solutions in Oceania. We expect these additional capabilities will accelerate the digital transformation opportunities available to the business.”

EY’s other acquisitions in the last seven months include Adelphi Digital Consulting Group in November and Articulate Consulting in July.
