ESET launches AI-powered MDR tiers for SMB and enterprise

Security vendor ESET has introduced two new Managed Detection and Response (MDR) subscription tiers aimed at helping Australian businesses combat growing cyber threats amid a significant industry talent gap.

The global cybersecurity company unveiled its ESET PROTECT MDR for small and medium businesses.

Meanwhile, the ESET PROTECT MDR Ultimate tier for enterprise customers offers 24/7 protection powered by artificial intelligence and human expertise.

"As cyber threats grow in scale and sophistication, both businesses and their IT partners are under increasing pressure to deliver strong, reliable protection," Parvinder Walia, president of Asia Pacific and Japan at ESET, said.

"That's why we've expanded our offerings with MDR services in Australia, enhanced by ESET's global threat intelligence and human expertise."

The new MDR services promise a 20-minute Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) for cybersecurity incidents, addressing key challenges identified in ESET's research, which found Australian SMBs struggle with keeping pace with the latest technologies and threats while lacking dedicated cybersecurity teams.

ESET has also enhanced its cybersecurity portfolio with several new features, including Ransomware Remediation, which helps users quickly prevent and recover from ransomware attacks by creating secure backups of critical data and allowing automated file recovery.

The company has improved its Cloud Office Security with new anti-spoofing capabilities to detect impostor messages and homoglyph protection to identify disguised malicious domains.

ESET AI Advisor, a generative AI-based cybersecurity assistant, has also been introduced to help security analysts conduct in-depth analysis of security incidents.

The MDR services are designed to benefit Managed Service Providers (MSPs) as well, who face increasing pressure from supply-chain attacks and targeted cybercriminal activity.

"MSPs are not only potential victims, but also potential accessories to a crime," ESET noted, explaining that its MDR services can be deployed in MSP environments with a single security service available around the clock.
