The head of telco equipment vendor Ericsson's Australia and New Zealand business, Emilio Romeo will shift to a regional executive role from April 1 this year.

Romeo's new role will be as executive strategic advisor for South East Asia, India and Oceania, and he will bring his expertise in driving business growth and transformation to key Ericsson customers in the region.

A spokesperson for Ericsson Australia told CRN Australia that recruitment for Romeo's replacement is underway currently.

Romeo said it's been a privilege for him to lead the Ericsson ANZ business for the past nine years.

"This is the right time to hand over to a successor who can execute on our commitments and drive the next phase of growth for the next three to five years," Romeo said.

Romeo is an Ericsson Australia veteran who started at the Sweden headquartered telco supplier in 1997 and rose through the ranks over the years.
