Global employment solutions provider Employment Hero said it is purchasing Humi, one of Canada's leading jobs platforms.
The deal carries an estimated value of more than C$100 million, making it one of the largest recent transactions in the Canadian technology sector.
Employment Hero's expansion targets the Canadian market as a step in growing its global reach.
It currently serves more than two million employees and 300,000 small and medium-sized enterprises worldwide.
The merger combines Employment Hero's global innovation and Employment Operating System with Humi's expertise in Canadian market dynamics.
Thousands of Humi's existing SME customers will gain access to an integrated platform offering payroll, HR, and benefits services tailored for Canadian businesses.
"United in our mission to make employment easier and more valuable for everyone, Employment Hero is the perfect partner to support Humi's growth in Canada," Kevin Kliman, chief executive officer and co-founder of Humi said.
"Humi is an incredible business and Canada is an exciting market," Ben Thompson, chief executive officer and co-founder of Employment Hero said.
Canada presents a substantial opportunity with over one million SMEs operating across the country, and the goal of the merged companies is to double the presence in that market.
The partnership aims to drive innovation in product development, enabling Canadian SMEs to enhance their investment in people, processes, and growth strategies.
Humi's decade-long presence in Canada centres on developing employment solutions focused on employee value and support.
