Storage vendor EMC said its new products are cost-effective and entry-level products to the Celerra NS series of storage systems.
The new Celerra NS20 and the Celerra NS40 system can connect to multiple types of storage networks and EMC’s Celerra Startup Assistant software enables Celerra NS20 and NS40 systems to from power up to production is around 15 minutes.
David Webster, managing director Australian and New Zealand at EMC said the Celerra NS20 and NS40 are suited for delivery by channel partners. The vendor will be offering new training and service options around the products.
“We are seeing the channel is moving towards a converged IP storage and IP network system. This product is right for the channel because it deals with virutalisation, fibre channel and IP,” he said.
Both products support network attached storage (NAS), iSCSI and fibre channel storage area network (SAN) connectivity. The platforms support Unix, Linux and Microsoft operating environments and major applications from Microsoft and Oracle.
According to Webster partners can have the products up and working within 15 minutes via streamlined ordering and simplified installation.
“Resellers are required to do a three hour online course for certification. The products will be available as of August” he said.
