Eaton targets government with Avnet signing

Eaton Industries has signed a distribution agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions to distribute its full range of power products.

Among the products Avnet will distribute are Eaton's scalable BladeUPS enclosures and ePDUs (enclosure power distribution units).

In addition, Avnet will distribute Eaton's mid-to-high range of UPS products and focus on delivering solutions for enterprise data centre infrastructures.

Gavin Lawless, general manager of Avnet Technology Solutions, Australia, said the partnership complements Avnet's existing enterprise technology solution vendor portfolio.

"[It also] allows us to extend our solution expertise and capabilities, in terms of supporting the channel with business-critical continuity and energy efficiency solutions," said Lawless.

Avnet's reseller partners will have access to Eaton's training and certification program.

Furthermore, Eaton will support Avnet with funded resourcing, a dedicated account management for pre-sales and post-sales engineering and technical support.

Darren Butterworth, Eaton's national IT channel manager, said: "The partnership will enable us to concentrate our resources on servicing the higher end data centre enterprise and government market where there are increased requirements for power distribution and environmental monitoring solutions driven by legislation, compliance and budget priorities.

The deal is Eaton's third; Synnex and BlueChip IT already distribute the company's products.

"The distribution channel is an integral part of our business model, and the Avnet appointment will enable Eaton to further capitalise on the growing interest in our data centre management solutions," said Butterworth.
