Chinese mobile PDA manufacturer Dopod International has landed in Australia, appointing Bluechip Infotech and Brightpoint to distribute its products to the reseller channel.
Bluechip will distribute Dopod's model 5301 2G flip phone, as well as the 838Pro 3G phone that includes a sliding keyboard and the 595, a 3G smartphone that runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0.
Brightpoint will have the rights to the 838Pro and 595.
The 595 also lets users synchronise e-mail, calendar and schedules and comes with document viewers for PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
In just two years, Dopod International has become one of Asia's fastest growing mobile communications company largely due to its partnerships with High Tech Computer (HTC) and Microsoft, said Jack Tong, CEO of Dopod International.
