Sydney-based fibre provider PlusOptic has announced Distribution Central as its sole distributor in Australia and New Zealand.
PlusOptic technology supports more than 70 networking vendors including Brocade, Cisco, HP and Juniper, which, according to the company, "eliminates proprietary networks to create vendor-agnostic environments".
Distribution Central is expected to take care of existing PlusOptic partners, as well as help the fibre provider to broaden its reach.
"Distribution Central provided a perfect fit due to its leadership in the systems integrator community, particularly in the large enterprise, education and government verticals," PlusOptic co-founder and technical sales director Richard Gillespie said.
"Our solutions provide Distribution Central’s partners with the opportunity to add further value to their networking and infrastructure portfolios and to boost margins."
PlusOptic launched its first channel program around October 2015. According to PlusOptic business development director Ian McLean, the company started shifting towards a channel focused approach two years ago and changed to a channel-only model in the past 12 months.
According to McLean, the entry level program has currently "a couple of hundred" partners nationally and between 10 and 12 at the platinum level.
