NimBiz, a newly incorporated telephony distributor, is bringing Melbourne-based Emersion Software's billing and fraud prevention solution to the wholesale VoIP market.
Emersion's Cumulus platform solves a problem where hackers can bypass firewalls to a customer’s PBX and embed a bot, which reroutes the call to be hosted on a premium service. Cumulus provides real-time detection of VoIP hacking, going into shutdown before incurring illegal third-party charges.
“Tight security isn’t on the reseller, and the cost of fraud is beared on NimBiz when customers are out of pocket,” said NimBiz chief executive Ray Trevisan. “Last year, a carrier suffered $60,000 in charges from a European hacker in less than five minutes.”
Cumulus is also a customer management platform that provides billing and payment solutions to resellers. Emersion will continue working with NimBiz to bring its billing and fraud prevention solution to give smaller wholesalers easier entry into the market.
“This is a simple solution that will be welcomed by resellers such as IT businesses and systems integrators that want to expand their offerings to include high-margin cloud voice services,” said Trevisan. “Our final testing is in progress and we are now actively looking for resellers to join us as we conclude our trials and roll into commercial service."
Based in Sydney, NimBiz sells telephony and VoIP services to wholesale resellers, with AAPT and TPG as broadband partners.
