The Department of Human Services has awarded contracts to Dimension Data* and IBM for some networking and storage refreshes.
Dimension Data was awarded two separate contracts worth $2.6 million and $1.58 million for “ICT hardware”, which the department told CRN were for the “supply of computer network equipment“.
“We’ve awarded two new contracts to Dimension Data through a standing offer which all Australian Government agencies may use (SON112),” a DHS spokesperson told CRN.
“Dimension Data was selected as these procurements represent value for money in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.”
IBM meanwhile was given $1.5 million for a contract to “meet additional hardware storage demands” as part of the IT giant’s whole-of-government deal.
DHS declined to offer details about how the new equipment will be used.
*The contracts were awarded before DiData was absorbed into and was re-named NTT Ltd, so we're sticking with the old name for now while we can.
