Dicker Data has becomes the first in Australia to offer Autodesk products via a subscription model through the distributor's CloudPortal.
"We're pleased to be not only the first in Australia, but one of the first globally to launch this new subscription platform and program for Autodesk," Dicker Data chairman and chief executive David Dicker said.
"Partners can now sell Autodesk products at a monthly price-point which has opened the door for them to approach new end-users who wouldn’t have otherwise had the budget for an upfront full-product purchase."
The Sydney-headquartered distributor is also the second partner in Asia-Pacific to take up the service.
Both companies worked together to provide the customised interfaces to enable partners to transact the subscription-based products in a seamless manner, according to Dicker Data.
Dicker Data’s CloudPortal platform, launched in July 2015, has automated renewal notification capabilities to notify partners of their contracts' expiry dates.
Autodesk is also focusing on enabling an auto-renew, monthly subscription for single users through distribution partners. Monthly auto-renewal will be available with Dicker Data.
Autodesk channel communications manager Asia-Pacific Kelly Banning said: "Autodesk’s Digital Distribution Web Services (DDWS) program is focused on delivering a comprehensive suite of web services to the Autodesk partner channel.
"Partners will use these services to drive automation throughout their business, helping the channel manage the overall increase in order volume and better positioning the channel to be successful with the transition to term-based offerings."
Dicker Data registered 11 percent revenue growth in the first three months of 2016, with sales growing from $240 million last year to $268 million during the first quarter.
