Effective of February, DES take on broad a range of X-rite products concerned with colour predictability and verification. It will target the products at resellers with digital imaging, prepress, pressroom, photographic and creative experience.
DES will be offering a new integrated product range, combining X-Rite and GretagMacbeth's complementary strengths.
The distributor will also expand its offering into colour and appearance management for industrial and medical markets.
Following a merge with CyraChrome late last year, DES is in a good position in the digital imaging market and will maintain the high levels of services and support.
Ian Clare, managing director at DES said it was picked because X-Rite recognised its technical skills and resources.
“The appointment of DES will mean that we will carry a local inventory of X-Rite products, support the products with our technical team, and extend our local colour management training through our Chromaticity training division,” he said.
Existing X-Rite users and customers will benefit from a local master distributor, with strong technical resources who is aware of local market trends and requirements. Users can look forward to increased levels of local sales and technical service and support, said Clare.
DES also has the exclusive local distribution rights to other colour management software vendors and hardware vendors such as Apple.
