Defense contractor Leidos lands BOM deal

Leidos Australia has been chosen by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) to provide the agency with a new a data management platform.  

The $16 million contract will run over a three-year period. Work commenced in November 2019. 

Leidos said the platform will be used to help meet the Bureau’s current information access needs and align data governance and information lifecycle management policies procedures and products, and will support the addition of emerging information capabilities. 

“We are delighted to have signed our first contract with the Bureau of Meteorology,” Leidos Australia CEO Christine Zeitz said.  

“The Australian community depends on the critical data that the Bureau collects and delivers and we look forward to supporting this through the platform.” 

Formerly a subsidiary of defense contractor Lockheed Martin, Leidos also offers services to the energy, government, health and transportation industries.
