The Department of Defence has selected Data#3 for an $80 million deal to provide Microsoft software licences and software assurance services.
The contract is a renewal of the department’s annual software assurance and subscriptions for an additional three years. No further details on the software were provided.
The deal was signed on 20 September 2019 and runs from 27 September 2019 to 30 June 2022.
A department spokesperson told CRN the contract is part of Data#3’s whole of government volume sourcing arrangement with the federal government, managed by the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA).
Data#3 has been the federal government’s exclusive Microsoft licence reseller (LSP) since 2008, selling core desktop licences to a central agency which then distributes the licences per seat. The company renewed the agreement with the DTA multiple times, with the last deal signed in 2018.
