David Cullen takes over as MD of Scyne Advisory's cyber practice

Professional services provider Scyne Advisory has appointed David Cullen as MD of the company's cyber practice.

He joins from CISO Lens, where he served as director of national cyber advocacy and uplift for two and a half years.

Prior to that, he worked at the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet for over five years, holding such roles such as Victorian Government CISO, Victorian Government Chief Data Officer and Head of Victorian Government Cyber Incident Response Service.

He also was at the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission for over six years.

"I’m drawn to Scyne’s focus on supporting public sector and public purpose organisations, and the opportunity to help organisations across Australia strengthen their cyber resilience," Cullen said in a post on LinkedIn.

"Bringing in expertise like David's is a key part of how we're investing in our growing Cyber practice, with a focus on building public sector cyber capabilities and helping drive up the resilience of the vital public institutions and systems we all depend on every day," the company stated in its own post on LinkedIn.

"Against the backdrop of the deteriorating global threat environment and universal pressure on budgets, finding ways to improve the stability and security of our public sector is a common thread across the country."
