Data#3 has deployed a Cisco-powered network at residential and community care provider Baptcare.
The network is an upgrade from a previous consumer-grade network to more robust and properly-segmented infrastructure that improves connectivity and security.
Baptcare, which operates in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, provides residential and community aged care services, as well as support services to children, families, people with disability and asylum seekers.
“In the past, our aged care residents haven’t had an easy way to stay in touch with family members outside of using a landline or visits,” Baptcare ICT manager Belinda Quirk said.
“We now have the technology in most rooms for telephony and internet access. They have a way to communicate with their loved ones whether they’re here in Victoria, in Australia, or on the other side of the world.”
Quirk added that Data#3’s diverse product offering allowed Baptcare to use multiple services like software licences, consulting work and security project rollouts.
“This project is a fantastic example of how innovative technology can be used to positively impact the community in which we operate and make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable Australians,” Data#3 chief executive Laurence Baynham said.
“Congratulations to the team on a great job. We look forward to continuing our positive work with Baptcare.”
