Security software provider Cylance has promoted its head of channels Jason Duerden to country manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Duerden was promoted to the newly created position as part of an effort by Cylance to expand its regional presence
“In the local market, we continue to see strong interest in Cylance’s technology and services from customers and partners, with a surge in uptake in the last 6 months,” Duerden said.
“I am extremely proud of our team’s achievements and excited to lead our continued growth, helping customers migrate to next-generation security.”
In his new role, Duerden will be responsible with Cylance’s growth in the region, supporting the marketing, engineering, sales, channel, threat research and consulting teams for ANZ.
He will also be tasked with executing the company’s global strategy on a local level and delivering products and services across the ANZ market.
“I’m looking forward to the upcoming year as we anticipate a few launches throughout 2018,” Duerden told CRN.
“We’ve got some pretty exciting stuff that will add to our existing suite of cybersecurity software.”
Duerden will report to John Giacomini, Cylance’s executive vice president of global sales and operations.
“Jason has proven himself to be an incredibly capable executive and a natural leader, responsible for driving Cylance’s success in the ANZ market in 2017,” Giacomini said.
“His passion for Cylance’s technology and support of the company’s mission to secure every endpoint across the globe will anchor our commitment to the region moving forward.”
Also joining Cylance is Rob Collins as ANZ regional sales engineering director, who most recently worked for firewall management software vendor FireMon.
The company is also expanding its sales, engineering and marketing teams to support its growing partner and customer base across the region.
"Cylance has been a critical part of our endpoint security offering, providing proactive, artificial intelligence-based threat prevention that our customers can rely on,” said Len Findlay, chief executive of Cylance partner VMtech.
“Jason and the local team are fantastic to work with, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in 2018 for ongoing growth and success.”
