Crisis-hit online reseller makes nice with Fair Trading

NSW Fair Trading has begun working with online retail group Digital Skies after multiple complaints from Australian customers.

The department issued a public warning for consumers not to conduct business with any of the group's websites, which includes Android Enjoyed, Camera Sky and Klukkur. The stores sell a range of electronic goods such as Android tablets, smartphones, laptops and cameras.

Android Enjoyed was ranked eighth on NSW Fair Trading's list of most-complained-about companies in July, receiving 18 complaints that month.

The complaints were primarily related to the quality of goods sold, the acceptance of payment without supplying goods and supplying goods not suitable for the Australian market.

Fair Trading was concerned that it was unable to contact the Hong Kong-based company before issuing the warning. Digital Skies has since engaged a PR consultant and commenced its crisis management protocol to address the complaints.

"NSW Fair Trading is encouraged by our engagement with Digital Skies Group and we are working towards a positive outcome which will assist in protecting all Australian consumers," said commissioner Rod Stowe.

Customers not satisfied with their interaction with Digital Skies are urged to contact NSW Fair Trading on 13 32 20 or visit its website www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au.
