NSW Fair Trading has issued a public warning against the parent company of online retailer Android Enjoyed.
The warning follows the publication of a list of the most-complained-about companies in July. Online retailer Android Enjoyed was number eight in the ranking, having received 18 complaints that month.
NSW Fair Trading has warned consumers to not deal with Digital Skies Group, which owns Android Enjoyed, Camera Sky and Klukkur.
Android Enjoyed lists a range of brands and products on its website, including Android tablets, a host of smartphones and laptops from Apple and Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi.
Complaints were primarily related to the quality of the goods sold on the website, which lists mobile phones, smart watches and digital cameras. Complaints were also registered in regards to the acceptance of payment without supplying the goods, the supply of goods not suitable for the Australian market and other Australian Consumer Law offences.
NSW Fair Trading commissioner Rod Stowe has urged anyone considering doing business with Digital Skies Group to give the matter serious consideration before making any payment or purchasing any products. The estimated consumer loss is $150,000.
"This company is the subject of numerous complaints, and Fair Trading has been unable to make contact with the business owner despite numerous attempts."
All business are operated online and have no physical address despite listing a location in a large shopping mall on all three websites, according to NSW Fair Trading.
Customers who have dealt with Android Enjoyed, CameraSky, Klukkur or any other businesses that may be affiliated with Digital Skies Group, and are not satisfied with their interaction, are urged to contact NSW Fair Trading on 13 32 20 or visit www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au.
