Melbourne-based telco and NBN reseller More Telecom has extended its partnership with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).

CBA has also increased its stake in More and sister company Tangerine Telecom from 25 per cent to 30 per cent.

More and Tangerine became CBA's exclusive telecommunications partners in 2021, when the bank also acquired minority stakes in the telcos.

As part of the expanded partnership, joint CBA and More customers can now link and view their More NBN and mobile accounts in the CommBank app to pay bills, check usage and manage their account.

More will continue to offer exclusive discounts on its telecommunications services to CBA customers.

“Since the launch of CommBank-More deal over two years ago, our relationship has achieved remarkable success,” More's chief executive Andrew Branson said.

“More has become one of the fastest-growing telcos in Australia, with nearly 140,000 joint More and CBA customers."

"The exclusive relationship between CommBank and More has not only exceeded expectations but has also demonstrated the synergy of combining banking and telecommunications services to achieve positive outcomes for customers.”

The extended partnership has seen More launch new NBN discount offers for eligible customers of CBA's customer recognition program Yello, which are accessible via the CommBank app.

“This agreement reinforces our continued commitment to supporting Australian households by providing them with reliable and affordable mobile and NBN solutions," CBA's GM of retail strategy Ben Morgan said.

"It’s another way we’re saying thanks to our customers and offering them ways to save."

“From 27 November, customers that update their CommBank app will be able to see their More accounts, check their usage and pay their bill.”

“We believe being able to view and interact with your telco plan via your banking app is an Australian-banking first.”
