Cirrus Networks wins managed services contract with University of Western Australia

Cirrus Networks has landed a managed service contract with the University of Western Australia.

The $2 million deal will have Cirrus managing the university’s on-premise platforms, network, storage and backup facilities within its data centres for a one-year initial term, with the option to extend.

“As one of Australia’s leading universities, our enabling technology infrastructure is critical to maintain our strong position in the sector,” UWA chief information officer Warwick Calkin said.

“Cirrus through its value-based solutions and unparalleled technical capability demonstrated skills across all of the disciplines to complement our needs.”

This is Cirrus’ second contract win with a top Australian university in the past 12 months, following a storage deal with Deakin University in September last year.

“Winning this high profile education-based managed service highlights Cirrus’ ongoing ability to demonstrate innovative cost-effective solutions for clients and continues to deliver on the goal to be the market leader in managed services.”

Cirrus grew its revenue by an additional $22.2 million in the 12 months leading up to 30 June, thanks to a steady streamline of multi-million-dollar contract wins and a successful acquisition integration.

Full-year revenue reached $76 million for the period with services revenue climbing 130 percent year-on-year in 2018 to $19 million, making up 35 percent of its total gross margin.
