Chris Casey becomes MD of ANZ for AWS

Chris Casey has been elevated to MD of ANZ for AWS, taking over from Rianne van Veldhuizen.

Casey first joined AWS in 2018, working in New York City and responsible for all Specialist Sales, Business Development, Customer Success, Marketing, Partnerships, and Operations for AWS Data Exchange. 

He took over as director and GM of industry for software solutions in 2022 before moving to Sydney a year later to become director of AWS Partnerships for Asia Pacific & Japan.

van Veldhuizen joined AWS at the start of 2021 as head of SMB for APJ before taking over VP and MD for ANZ in July of that year.

Prior to AWS, she served as the chief digital officer and VP of digital sales and commercial at IBM Asia Pacific.

"As a born and raised Aussie, it’s a professional privilege to lead AWS through its next chapter across ANZ," Casey said in a post on LinkedIn.

"Rianne, your leadership in ANZ has changed what’s possible for the customers and communities we serve. Thank you for the remarkable foundation you've built here: the culture, the momentum, the people. That's a legacy I don't take lightly and I'm proud to carry it forward."
