Fredericks, who was best known for his roles at Dovetail, Toshiba, Sun Microsystems and Secure Computing, failed to regain consciousness after an eight week coma caused by a chest infection.
Fredericks' most recent role was general manager at security distributor M-Tech. He opened the Australian office last September after leaving a two year stint as northern region sales manager for Secure Computing before it was acquired by McAfee.
Eric Krieger, former country manager for Secure Computing, said Fredericks was a great communicator who endeared himself to all his customers.
"I actually snapped him up when I heard he had left Dovetail after it was acquired by iTX, he was just too good to miss.
"In his first year, he met and exceeded his quota. Furthermore, he helped to consolidate the channels and develop our government and corporate business," said Krieger. "He always managed to strike up and maintain relationships," added Kreiger.
Fredericks was a prominent member of a surf club on the South coast near Woollongong and he played professional rugby league.
"He was a passionate St George supporter," said Krieger.
Fredericks had an accounting degree. In a 2006 interview with CRN, Fredericks said he "literally fell into technology in 1969 while working at Illawarra County Council.
Fredericks' funeral was held on May 21. Industry colleagues including all former Secure Computing employees attended the service.
