Cellnet Group's IT Wholesale division has expanded in New Zealand, signing a distribution contract for HP consumable products and will tap into a potential NZ$100 million market.
Under the agreement, the distributor will move HP ink toner and cartridges, specialty papers and storage media to the NZ reseller channel.
Stephen Harrison, MD at Cellnet said in a statement the HP contract represents a significant boost to the company's market presence in NZ.
He said IT Wholesale is one of two NZ distributors appointed following the tender by HP which previously used only one NZ distributor. 'The market for HP consumables in New Zealand is valued at NZ$100 million in annual sales, but it is too early to predict IT Wholesale's revenue for next year,' he said.
Michael Hughey, GM of Cellnet's New Zealand operation, said the contract was a vote of confidence in the group's NZ infrastructure and service capabilities.
'The new contract reflects the strength of the IT Wholesale business in New Zealand and also the strong retail client base that has been established in NZ through our Cellnet mobile phone handset and accessories division,' he said.
