Canberra-based strategic management and IT consultant Projects Assured has won a contract with the Department of Human Services to provide IT infrastructure assurance services.
The company was awarded just over $4 million for the provision of management advisory services across the department’s IT systems.
The department did not go into specifics, but said the contract also includes the provision of project management activities until the end of the 2018-19 financial year.
“This is a new contract and makes provisions for IT infrastructure work across Department of Human Services’ systems,” a DHS spokesperson told CRN.
“The procurement was undertaken through a Request for Refined Offer (RFRO) using a Department of Home Affairs panel available for the use of all Australian government agencies.”
Projects Assured, last year’s No. 5 in the CRN Fast50, was acquired by DWS in June for up to $43 million, giving the Melbourne IT outsourcing company greater exposure to potential federal government clients.
This is the latest of the Department of Human Services’ recent splash in IT spending in the past few months, covering the likes of the National Disability Insurance Agency and the Welfare Payment Infrastructure Transformation (WPIT) program.
Dimension Data, Ethan Group and IBM got a combined $11 million for the provision of hardware and software last week, while DXC, Capgemini and Accenture scored a total of $102 million in WPIT contracts.
DHS also awarded Dialog IT and DXC’s Dandelion Program for the provision of temporary staff, including consultants, analysts, developers and IT trainees.
