CA global channel boss flies in to shake up local arm

CA Technologies' first global partner executive has arrived in Australia with a mission to standardise the channel experience around the world.

Alyssa Fitzpatrick, CA's senior vice president of global partners and channels, flew into Sydney yesterday to meet with the Asia-Pacific leadership group as a part of her plans to synchronise the partner experience around the world.

"Each region has different maturity levels when it comes to partner relationships and independent templates on how we go to market with partners," Fitzpatrick told CRN. "APJ is one of the more mature regions."

The role of senior vice president of global partners and channels was newly created when Fitzpatrick started at CA six months ago. She said that this went some way to explaining why channel business has operated so independently in each of the regions.

When asked what sort of initiatives from other CA regions that she would like to introduce to the Asia-Pacific, Fitzpatrick said that the reforms would be internal and operational.

"It's more around processes within our company. A lot of how we manage partner relationships is not from a global perspective at the moment," said Fitzpatrick.

"We would like to get to a point where APJ partners can operate in the same way as their European counterparts."

Fitzpatrick said "partnering has been my life's work" with channel experience going back "20-plus years". Immediately prior to CA she ran the channel for McAfee and spent 10 years at Informatica. Fitzpatrick has also had stints at Oracle, Software AG and Accenture, according to LinkedIn.
