Buttonwood Cloud Exchange gets listed in government panel for cloud migration
Allan King, Buttonwood

Cloud management provider Buttonwood has announced that its Cloud Exchange platform has been listed in the Digital Transformation Agency’s Whole of Government Cloud Services Panel.

The platform, unveiled to the public in 2015, seeks to assist government agencies in their cloud migration efforts and hopes to capitalise as the government moves to a cloud-first policy.

“The panel gives government direct access to approved cloud services, without needing to approach the market. This creates efficiencies across the board and gets government to cloud faster,” Buttonwood managing director Allan King said.

“We developed Buttonwood to meet the needs of government as they look to transition to a ‘cloud first’ operating model.”

The Cloud Exchange platform simplifies the migration of government agencies’ IT processes to multiple cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure and Oracle.

The new version is also now fully integrated with Vault Systems, which Buttonwood said ensures that cloud services always meet the government’s security requirements.

“Our cloud offerings, that include the Cloud Broker, Cloud Workspace and Cloud Analytics, are helping organisations avoid bill shock, control cloud sprawl and govern shadow IT at a fraction of the cost of competing solutions,” King said.

Cloud Broker takes care of the cloud governance, Cloud Workspace aggregates the applications and software, and Cloud Analytics provides operational insight of the cloud environments.

“With our new release, we have made sure that we have the integrations and the procedures necessary to automate financial governance, ensuring both administrators and end-users alike can confidently use cloud with low risk and high return,” King said.
