Brennan IT will be one of Australia's first service providers to switch its business-grade communications services from legacy copper to the NBN in partnership with Optus Wholesale.
The Sydney-headquartered MSP will migrate its business services with Optus Wholesale Evolve before Special Services start being disconnected in November this year.
Special Services are a set of telco products servicing the business sector that are delivered over a copper connection, including Ethernet Lite, Frame Relay, Megalink, DDS Fastway, Integrated Services Digital Network and Customnet.
As part of the NBN rollout, these services will be disconnected, though migrating to a new connection will not be an automatic process.
As part of the partnership with Optus Wholesale, Brennan IT will have access to all 121 NBN points of interconnect (POIs) with a fibre-to-the-premises, fibre-to-the-basement and fibre-to-the-node connections.

Brennan IT chief operating officer Dayle Wilson added: “Moving to the NBN will help our customers pursue their transformation projects more aggressively. We plan to migrate hundreds of copper services during the next 18 months.”
Last year, Brennan IT made its biggest-ever investment to upgrade its core network based on Juniper Networks gear that allowed the company to roll our SD-WAN products and provide direct interconnections with major carriers.
