Blue Chip, Synnex and Ingram go for gotalk
Local telco, gotalk has abandoned its direct distribution model and signed up the likes of Blue Chip Infotech, Ingram Micro and Synnex Australia, to take its raft of new products to the broader market.

The company had previously handled its own distribution to mass merchants like Harvey Norman, Domayne, Dick Smith, Tandy and Harris Technology.

However with the introduction of new products and services expanded the gotalk product range in recent months and increased the size of the business.

CEO Steve Picton said it was important to be able to cover both corporate and independent technology stores to drive end-user growth.

"The new distributor model will open us up to more dealers. There are more than 18,000 dealers operating in the local retail space in Australia and with so many products and services on offer, it can often be very difficult to be noticed amongst the crowd,” he said.

To tempt resellers in taking on gotalk products Picton said registered gotalk dealers will also be able to receive special hardware rebates and discounts - for example on selected D-Link VoIP and Broadband hardware plus incentives for every service they connect.

He said gotalk’s special offers and various promotions will be available to all registered dealers who will make their standard commission on hardware.

“We have the ability to cross sell and bundle a complete range of communications services including broadband, which can lead to commission on gotalk services,” said Picton.

The telco has provides a range of prepaid mobile, internet, broadband voice (VoIP) and phonecard services all from the one account. gotalk also provides a range of postpaid products, including fixed line voice, broadband (ADSL) and dial up internet, broadband voice (VoIP).

Blue Chip, Ingram and Synnex will also have access to gotalk’s broadband voice (pre & post paid VoIP) package; phone stick (USB VoIP phone); ezichat- prepaid landline; prepaid mobile l; prepaid Internet & VoIP headset; ADSL - broadband ; Universal Music content cards and prepaid wireless broadband.

"We intend to continue to launch many more such products in the months to come," Mr. Picton said.
