Blink eyes mobility partners

BlinkMobile Interactive is recruiting resellers in Australia and New Zealand to meet business demand for simple and affordable mobile solutions.

Director Darren Besgrove said Blink, a Platform-as-a-service provider, had 50 such customers serviced by three specialist resellers.

“We want a dozen more but 30 or 40 is practical,” Besgrove said.

He said it was difficult to find the right partners because many companies were bolting mobility on their systems without understanding the technology.

“Our [business] model has always been about the channel but we need organisations with the right skill sets,” he said. “We’ve run into a dead end.”

He said that with so many end users looking for effective mobile solutions there were opportunities for resellers. And the annuities from cloud solutions will lure quality partners.

Blink Mobility platform, which runs on Amazon’s EC3, deploys and manages enterprise data mobile solutions to devices. It allowed organisations to deploy in days or weeks applications that would normally take weeks to provision, he said.

“The platform allows enterprise to look more strategically at mobiles and turn on the tap wherever they are,” Besgrove said. “They are able to do that without cutting code.”

Blink’s services run over a customer’s carrier networks but Besgrove said the company was in early-stage discussions with carriers to resell mobile services.

It enjoyed success in verticals such as health, education, government and events. Customers were ABC Driving Schools, University of Technology Sydney, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Brisbane City Council and the NSW Waratahs rugby team.
