Billion-dollar baby Dicker Data wins APC award

Dicker Data has won the APC by Schneider Electric 'best distributor in Pacific' award, while announcing that it's on track for a billion-dollar year.

Dicker chief operating officer Vladimir Mitnovetski attended the power vendor's partner summit in Bali this week to accept the award.

Meanwhile, the distributor announced September quarter revenue of $273.7 million, up $10.5 million on the same quarter last year.

The quarter means the full year revenue is expected to meet the previous forecast of $1 billion, while the pre-tax profit forecast was upgraded slightly to $31.5 million.

During the quarter, Dicker Data launched its cloud portal and added Veritas, Paessler and IBM Softlayer as to its vendor portfolio. The publicly listed distributor also appointed Ian Welch as chief information officer in August.

Earlier this week, CRN reported that Dicker Data is currently pursuing $500,000 of debt accrued by failed company City Software Pty Ltd.

Dicker Data's $40.25 million capital raising effort in August "were partly applied to debt reduction and partly used for working capital". Total debt was brought down from $110 million at the start of the quarter to $89.7 million at the end.
