Niche Australian modem distributor PC Range has announced a range of price cuts to its range of Billion broadband routers.
The distie attributed to the price cuts to the current strength of the Australian dollar.
Raaj Menon, CEO at PC Range told CRN the company cut prices for 11 of its Billion routers, effective from September 15, with the average RRP cut about 19 percent.
Billion has slashed $100 from its BiPAC 7402NX (now $399) and the BiPAC 7402GX (now $329) "mobile hotspot" routers - which support both wired ADSL2+ and wireless 3G broadband connectivity.
Menon said the changes carve a third of the price from Billion's BiPAC 5200N Draft 802.11n ADSL2+ Firewall Router, which drops from $239 to $159.
"The more affordable the routers, the more are sold," said Menon. "Since the Australian dollar has strengthened against the US dollar since the middle of this year, PC Range was able to pass that more-bang-for-buck benefit on to the consumer."
