BigAir expands network in QLD, NSW, with Adelaide soon to follow

Following its network deployment in Perth, Western Australia in December 2008, BigAir plans to provide further coverage of its fixed wireless network in New South Wales and Queensland.

This will take the service provider's national coverage area to around 15,000 square kilometres.

In a statement to the ASX, BigAir said, the Queensland expansion includes continuous coverage from North Brisbane to the Gold Coast, also covering businesses in South Queensland.

Off the back of the rollout, the service provider has released its Channel Partner Program in Brisbane and the Gold Coast  to offer Queensland-based partners and ISPs additional revenue.

BigAir said its New South Wales coverage has been extended to include outer Sydney suburbs, including Wetherill Park.

Additional coverage areas in the region includes; Smithfield; Liverpool; Prestons; Milperra; Glendenning; and Riverstone.

A base station has also been built to service the Belrose area in Sydney's northern suburbs, including the Austlink Business Park.

A planned rollout in Adelaide has been confirmed for completion by June 2009, taking BigAir's coverage across six cities, across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and the Gold Coast.

Jason Ashton (pictured), CEO at BigAir, said despite the challenging economic environment and the uncertainty of the national broadband network, the service provider has experienced sales growth in Q4 of this financial year.

"[In an] upgrade to its forecast operating guidance for the financial year ending 30 June 2009 EBITDA is now expected in the range of $1.8 - $2 million," he said.
