Brad Fisher has joined Oracle in the role of senior director for technology and federal government, based out of Canberra.
He previously served as head of federal sales for AWS for the last three years.
Prior to this, he was at Dell for close to a decade, working as the ANZ public sector sales director for storage platform solutions in his last role at the company.
Fisher said he has spent much of his career working with and within government, and one thing is clear: the role of technology in the public sector has never been more critical.
"From modernising ageing systems to unlocking the potential of AI and better use of data, Australia’s public sector has never had a better opportunity to deliver more, move faster, and do it all securely," he said on LinkedIn.
"What drew me to Oracle wasn’t just the world-class tech, it’s the way Oracle is designed to meet the security, compliance and performance standards of government and other highly regulated industries and to do it in a way that gives agencies real choice and control.
"I'm looking forward to working closely with our customers, partners and a sharp local team to support government in using cloud, data and AI to drive better outcomes for citizens."
"Brad brings with him a vast amount of experience in government and private sectors - and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the team especially as security, cloud, data, and AI are increasingly becoming essential for the Australian government," Oracle regional MD for ANZ, Stephen Bovis, said on LinkedIn.
"His expertise will be a valuable addition to our business."
