Ed Havlik, country manager for A/NZ, Avocent claimed the decision extends Avocent’s global association with the distributor, referring to established agreements in Europe and the US.
“We’re very pleased to be extending the Ingram Micro partnership to include Australia,” he said. “Ingram’s Solutions group has very healthy relationships with its resellers and systems integrators and is well regarded for providing excellent support.”
As a result of the partnership, Avocent and Ingram Micro’s Solutions group will offer assistance to resellers and systems integrators in delivering remote IT infrastructure management solutions to customers, claimed Havlik.
“Remote infrastructure management is increasing in appeal as organisations face escalating cost pressures and are forced to become more productive with fewer resources,” he said.
Commenting on the addition of Avocent offerings to the Ingram Micro portfolio,
Guy Freeland, managing director of Ingram Micro Australia said: “We have identified virtualisation as a vital technology segment. With technologies that enable resellers to better service their clients’ infrastructure issues and reduce ongoing operational costs, Avocent’s ability to remotely manage both physical and virtual environments sees them as a very important part of this new portfolio and our wider Solutions offering.”
