Distributor Avnet has won the global distribution rights for flash storage pioneer SanDisk.
The win follows recent distribution agreements with Panasonic for its Toughbooks and Asus for computer components in Australia.
Under the new agreement, Avnet subsidiaries Avnet Technology Group and Avnet Electronics Marketing will be responsible for the global distribution of SanDisk's flash-based hardware and software solutions.
SanDisk senior vice president of worldwide commercial sales and support, Henri Richard, said Avnet's global scale and unique distribution model would make it accessible to decision makers such as CIOs and IT leaders.

"Just as flash storage transformed the consumer electronics market, it is now delivering significant performance and cost-savings to businesses, including transforming both data centre and client computing economics," said Richard.
Avnet's subsidiaries will distribute solid-state solutions for data centres, embedded flash storage solutions, and client SSDs designed to boost PC and notebook speeds.
The distributor will support its reseller partners by offering education initiatives, resources, services and tools in an effort to promote the uptake of flash storage.
Initiatives include targeted customer marketing to help identify sales opportunities, the creation of design kits and participation in evaluation programs.
Avnet global president Phil Gallagher said the partnership arms resellers, integrators, system builders and developers with a value for money proposition.
"The combination of Avnet's technical expertise and sophisticated integration capabilities, with SanDisk's proven flash products, enables our channel partners to not only address the growing demand for flash-based storage solutions in the commercial market, but also create complete solutions that provide a competitive edge in the markets they serve around the globe," Gallagher said.
