Australian resellers scoop Adobe channel awards

Adobe at Sydney's Metro Theatre this week held its second annual Adobies awards for its Australian and New Zealand partners, dishing out gongs to 10 Australia-based and two Kiwi resellers of its software.

ACT-based reseller Zallcom scooped two prizes – licensing partner of the year for government sales of Adobe's entire range of software, and Acrobat channel partner of the year.

Most outstanding channel partner of the year was Express Online, an online national reseller based in New South Wales.

Express Online had the greatest percentage growth across all Adobe products and licensing modes during 2004.

Channel partner of the year for creative suite software, such as Photoshop and InDesign, was South Australia's AppleCentre Adelaide-MacMedia.

Education licensing partner of the year was NSW's Simply International Group.

Corporate licensing partner of the year was Designwyse from Victoria.

Harris Technology took the accolade for overall Australian channel partner of the year. The company had the greatest sales of Adobe products – measured by revenue - this year of any Australian Adobe partner.

New Zealand's MagnumMac won the corresponding prize for partners across the Tasman.

Top reseller salesperson of 2004 went to Justin Clark, from Victorian partner Emperors Mind. Salesperson awards were made following a series of surveys of Adobe staff and customers.

Adobe Licensing Centre salesperson of the year was Sushini Gunawardene from City Software in Victoria.

David O'Neill, from Tech Pacific Australia, took the distributor salesperson of the year for Australia and New Zealand.

Solutions partner salesperson for 2004 was John Whaling from Indigo Pacific, a multinational reseller and consultancy headquartered in Sydney.

Distributor of the year was Tech Pacific Australia. It had the greatest percentage growth in sales of Adobe product across all licensing modes during 2004.

Lou Nunn, an Adobe product manager from Tech Pacific New Zealand, won the product manager of the year prize. The winner was chosen after surveys of Adobe staff and channel partners during the year and must have worked on an Adobe account for a minimum six months of the year.
