Australian National Audit Office seeks MSP

The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) is looking for a managed services provider to provide end-to-end management of its IT environment.

The ANAO is a specialist federal public sector practice that provides audit and assurance services to the Parliament and Commonwealth public sector entities and statutory bodies.

In a request for tender published on 28 March 2024, the ANAO said it is seeking to engage an MSP for an anticipated three-year contract, with two options to extend for a further three years.

The successful supplier will be tasked with providing secure, reliable and effective technology to the ANAO's largely mobile workforce of approximately 500 employees.

The supplier will work with the ANAO’s internal IT, cyber and business teams and other contracted service providers to effectively support and improve the ANAO’s IT environment, which is largely based on Microsoft operating systems and Azure.

The delivery of services is broken into five work streams:

  1. General management: Includes governance and reporting, ITSM/ESM and automation, enterprise and solutions architecture, cloud governance and FinOps, IT security as well as managing the transition in/out stages.

  2. IT service desk and end user support: Interacting with ANAO end users daily via delivery of a 24X7 service desk, on-site support and device management.

  3. Infrastructure and cloud management: As the ANAO  increasingly moves to cloud hosted solutions, the MSP will be responsible for compute and storage, network and telecommunications services, and videoconferencing services.

  4. Business systems and service integration: Ensuring Microsoft software and systems are up-to-date with the latest features and security patches, and providing support for mobile systems via technical assistance.

  5. Additional services: The ANAO may request additional services under the terms of the contract that can include project management, technical or other services.

The request for tender closes on 13 May 2024.
