Australian satellite provider NewSat will provide a range of communication services to a US Department of Defense partner under a new million-dollar contract.
This is the second Department of Defense contract NewSat has won. The Melbourne-based company signed a similar agreement valued at $2.4 million agreement in October.
The new contract has a two-and-a-half month base period with three one-year renewal options, which, if exercised, values the contract at $1.1 million.
Under the new agreement, NewSat will support a US Department of Defense partner with emergency response and disaster recovery services, satellite-based back-up communications and mobile solutions for Department of Defense applications.
NewSat supplies broadband and VoIP services to government and enterprise customers.
The company declared $39 million in revenue for FY13, up 5 percent, while its $12.1 million EBIDTA was an increase of 211 percent compared with the year before.
