Aussie sales up at Harvey Norman

Australian sales at Harvey Norman increased 1.8 percent in the third quarter compared with the same period last financial year, the retailer has announced.

Harvey Norman also recorded a four percent increase in global sales over the same period.

The results continue positive momentum for the retailer, which recorded a 3.6 percent increase in net profit after tax to $117.45 million earlier this year. At the time, the retailer reported that business from franchised outlets was up 1.4 percent and up 14.8 percent from company-owned outlets.

The last nine months saw the closure of five franchised outlets and one Joyce Mayne outlet for the retailer. In March, CRN reported that nine franchised stores had closed compared with the same period the year before.
