Adelaide-based Buddy Platform has extended its distribution and sales of its Ohm platform in the Caribbean and Central America, adding six markets in the region.
The company’s exclusive distributor and reseller in the region, Digicel Group, launched sales for the Ohm in Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Bermuda, Aruba, St Vincent and Panama.
The distribution and reseller agreement with Digicel was signed in July, with Jamaica as the first market to sell the Buddy Ohm.
Sales in El Salvador, Curaçao and Bonaire then followed in December.
The agreement targets a total of 26 countries and territories in the Caribbean and Central American region, with the rollout expected to complete by the end of February.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to announce Digicel as our first major mobile operator reseller," Buddy Platform chief executive David McLauchlan said in July.
“Digicel operates in markets with very expensive energy and many of their larger customers, like governments and the hospitality industry, have facilities with extraordinarily large energy costs.
“There’s a huge opportunity for Ohm in the Caribbean and Central America, and there’s no better partner to have in this region than Digicel.”
The Buddy Ohm is a IoT solution for facility resource monitoring and verification and connecting systems not designed to work together, while turning energy savings into a “strategic asset.”
In November, Buddy announced a partnership with Dicker Data.
