The Audit Office of NSW (AONSW) has issued a request for information (RFI) to find suppliers able to inform its potential future procurement of managed IT services.
AONSW currently delivers a full suite of IT services to staff through a combination of internal teams and external providers across the AWS and Microsoft Azure/365 platforms, with a range of cloud-hosted and software-as-a-service applications.
These services are integrated and managed by internal teams using Jira Service Management, with the overall direction for IT to continue leveraging best-in-market technologies in a secure manner befitting a public, high-profile, high transparency public sector organisation.
Areas within the RFI’s scope include business hours, on-site and 24/7 IT service desk support, as well as 24/7 cybersecurity operations, AWS managed services, Microsoft Azure managed services and Microsoft 365 and endpoint management.
In addition, selected business application operational support, and environment and application integration support, integration support between environments and applications, data movement and environment support, AI and automation platform support, and backup, recovery and operational resilience are also within scope.
The managed service arrangement should support a co-managed operating model with AONSW retaining strategic decision-making, governance, risk ownership and assurance, while the service provider would be responsible for contracted services under a service level agreement.
Endpoint devices, including Windows laptops and iOS and Android mobile devices also need support, as does AWS and Microsoft 365, endpoint, cyber, application, data, integration and AI services.
Further objectives include reducing key person risk, improving operational resilience and service consistency, and the support of secure experimentation, testing, staging, and production operations.
All services should be provided through a centralised service management, ticketing and reporting process, and should also support a multi-provider model where required.
The RFI closes at 3:00PM on 3 August.
