The Australian Securities and Information Commission has purchased a number of CypherNet encryptors, from local network encryption hardware vendor, Senetas.
John DuBois said the purchase was made through its local reseller, Fujitsu Australia.
"[This] was the first sale made by Fujitsu since the reseller partnership was established last September," he said.
According to DuBois, CypherNet products are dual accredited (FIPS and EAL4) encryptors.
"[The products] are already in use within a number of Australian Government agencies, including; the Australian Tax Office; Centrelink; Australian Federal Police; and the Australian Crime Commission.
He claimed the company was actively pursuing government business at both a federal and state level where government "needed to secure data in motion".
"[This includes] major financial transactions; and personally identifiable information, such as health records."
The deal rolls off the back of Senetas' announcement that it had appointed Korean reseller, iTEC Technologies for that region.
He said iTEC would resell its CypherNet Layer 2 encryption product, as well as its, Cypherstream - switchable between Layer 2 and Layer 3 IPSec.
DuBois claimed Korea was a potential market for encryption because it had one of the largest broadband uptakes in the APAC region.
