ASG lands mining contract

IT services provider ASG Group has secured a contract with CITIC Pacific Mining.

ASG will provide SAP as a managed service from its soon to be completed Perth data centre.

The company added SAP as a vendor partner last April through its acquisition of Western Australian SAP software provider Courtland Business Solutions.

ASG's general manager marketing Steve Tull said the contract “validated” ASG's strategy to enter the SAP market and demonstrated the company's success in integrating the Courtland business with its own.

The integrator said it was also recently selected amongst the first SAP partners in Australia and New Zealand to offer the vendor's new subscription based hosting (SBH) product.

CITIC Pacific Mining, director of Information Services, Christian Thompson, said he was pleased to award the new contract to ASG Group.

“ASG demonstrated the flexibility and agility we were seeking to support our IT transformation, in the face of strong competition from other key industry vendors.”

ASG also said it was in contract negotiations with another large mining company.
