Araza to bring 100 women into cyber roles

Melbourne IT consultancy Araza has launched an initiative to bring 100 women into information security roles over the next three years.

The Araza Women in Cyber (AWinC) program will see the company recruit women with a passion for cyber that don’t necessarily have the experience, but might be working in other areas of IT like architecture, testing, and cyber graduates.

Candidates will receive internal training and will be embedded into Araza’s client and partner organisations to get a hands on with cyber projects. Participating clients will also go through training, which Araza said in a press release were ASX 50 companies.

Araza CEO Victoria Kluth told CRN the program was a means of helping women break into the cyber industry while replenishing the job pool with more skilled workers.

“This is an initative that Araza believes is valuable both for the growth of cyber excellence in Australia and the nurturing of more gender equitable roles in high tech areas,” said Kluth.

“This will complement Araza’s cyber security practice and confirms our commitment to support women in cyber.”

Formal training begins this week, with the first rotation of candidates beginning on November 1st. Candidates will rotate to new client projects every three months.
