ASX-listed developer of optical and wireless solution, Arasor International Limited has entered into an exclusive strategic relationship with India’s ITI Limited (ITI), subject to approval from the Government of India.
ITI is one of India’s leading telecom solution providers and has provided telecommunication solutions to around 50 percent of the Indian telecom network.
Under the terms of a Transfer of Technology Agreement entered into between the companies, Arasor will provide ITI with technology and services that will enable ITI to directly manufacture, assemble, test and install, and commission fixed wireless terminal products for service provider customers in India including Bharat Sanchar Nagam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited.
In return, ITI will work exclusively with Arasor on the sales and marketing of CDMA fixed wireless terminals targeted at the entire Indian marketplace.
According to Dr Simon Cao, CEO of Arasor the company was pleased that ITI selected Arasor to partner with.
“The exclusive arrangement that we have entered into with ITI also positions Arasor against the competition for future orders for fixed wireless terminals and related product lines” he said.
Cao said Arasor’s Indian operations will work closely with ITI to implement the terms of the agreement.
“The benefits from this relationship will start coming in before year end 2007.”
