Amaysim taps into NBN disillusionment with trial offer

Amaysim is hoping to play on some of the cost confusion surrounding modern broadband services by offering a ‘first month free’ trial of its NBN plan, announced in February.

The telco is reporting that while five million home and businesses are ‘NBN-ready’, less than half of that number have signed up for an NBN plan because of ‘cost and complexity’ barriers. Amaysim hopes to tap into that market.

The offer will be available to all new NBN residential customers from now until the end of the month.

Amaysim commercial director of broadband Rob Appel said it was understandable that customers would want to get hands-on with a service before committing long-term.

“All too often the major providers are scaring people into making long term commitments for a service they may not be familiar with,” he said.

“To help break down the barriers that might be holding people back, we’ve taken a similar approach to subscription streaming services and launched this industry-first NBN free trial,” he said.
