Alstom, Alphawest cut fresh deals

By on

Alstom IT has been appointed as Australian distributor of Resilience, a manufacturer of security appliances, which it said was complementary to its Check Point software suite firewall and VPN platforms.

The distributor said it would offer its network of account managers and marketing and pre-sales support staff to Resilience resellers along with ongoing sales and technical training.

Greg Newham, general manager for Alstom, said the distributor's resellers require an appliance solution to sell to customers alongside the Check Point offering. The announcement follows another security distribution deal it struck with another security provider NetScreen earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Alphawest recently said it had signed a reseller agreement to sell Panareef's Classify for Microsoft Office platform, which it claimed provided a facility that would track and audit intellectual property and document assets.

Alphawest claimed that despite the fact that technology has allowed business to create information quickly, this information is being misused, misappropriated or stolen, causing direct financial harm to an organisation.
