Alloys buys print specialist Integrex

Melbourne distributor Alloys has purchased Integrex Systems, a Brisbane-based print distributor.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will see Alloys add a range of capabilities, including the expansion of its logistics and sales beyond its Melbourne base to Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.

It will also see Alloys add 20 staff to its existing 60-strong headcount, as well as the addition of both Brother and HP to its vendor roster.

“It’s a big investment from our perspective, and it allows us to give the market even better specialist print services,” said Alloys chief Paul Harman, in an interview with CRN.

Harman said Alloys is one of the few specialist distributors making an investment into print and printing services. The deal stemmed from a desire to expand its services through the opening up of its geographical footprint.

For the moment the businesses will operate as separate brands, with Integrex management coming across and reporting directly to Harman. “They will run as separate organisations until we complete the integration,” he said. “We aren’t in any hurry to get rid of the Integrex brand name.”

Harman also said the company was not ruling out further acquisitions down the track. “It’s all on the table,” he said. “We want to be the provider of specialist print technology right across the region and into Oceania.”
